This pigtail installs in-between the Auto Start Stop switch and the vehicle wiring harness to disable the auto start stop function. In addition to disabling the Auto Start Stop the switch contacts are broken out to be used in auxiliary applications. (i.e garage door opener etc)

You buy the device, plug it into the OBD port, load the app on your phone or tablet, and select the function you want. Very easy.
I'm in the states where the annoying auto start stop feature is available and standard on the 2018 GTi models for the first time. I couldn't find any answers on VWVortex or anywhere else specific to the U.S. spec 2018 GTi on how to (if at all possible) to permanently disable the auto start stop feature

Yes, you can use the temperature or voltage method, but the "A" symbol will light up on the dash when you come to a stop. The engine will not turn off, but the icon on dash will light up to tell you start/ stop is not active due to certain parameters not met. t3dT.
