Canon 100mm f/2.8 L for Video. Using telephotos on video is usually a recipe for jello-y, shaky disaster unless you have a sandbagged tripod in a windless studio. But not with this lens. The Canon 100mm f/2.8 L’s image stabilization is top tier, meaning you can hand hold this sucker without needing a gimbal and still get stable shots.

Both of these lenses are excellent. I had planned on the Sigma for some time - as it appears to possibly be a bit better optically than the Canon. However I got the Canon L on sale for a lot less than the Sigma. This shot made great use of the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L IS USM Lens' image stabilization. IS helped me frame the shot precisely, tightly and kept the shot sharp at 1/50 sec. The camera position is such that the entire length of wings falls into the plane of sharp focus. 100mm f/11.0 1/50s ISO 100. The Zeiss 100mm f2 Milvus lens is the company’s longest Milvus lens at the moment of publishing this review, and it is also capable of becoming even longer. I do not see any distortion on pictures taken with this lens. Contrast is also very good, while light fall-off is barely noticeable. The bokeh produced by this gem is a joy to see. In addition to its optical strengths, the 100mm f/2.0 is relatively small and light.
