The RF 70-200 F4 has 77mm filter threads. This filter size is somewhat large, modestly-high priced, and ubiquitous, allowing effects filters to readily be shared, including with the next-wider f/4 sibling, the RF 24-105 F4 L. Consider a Breakthrough Photography X4 Circular Polarizer for this lens.

Here is a look at the Sigma 24-105 OS positioned between three other f/4 zoom lenses. The above lenses are, from left to right, in their fully retracted positions, the following: Canon EF 24-70mm f/4 L IS USM Lens Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens Sigma 24-105mm f/4.0 DG OS HSM Art Lens Nikon 24-120mm f/4G AF-S VR Lens

The Sigma 24-105mm ƒ/4 DG OS HSM “A” is currently available in Canon-mount for $899 and ships with a bayonet-style, petal-shaped lens hood, front and rear caps and a soft case.

As it stands, the Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens is a nice lens overall. The size and weight of this lens are easy to handle for long periods of time and the lens shape is comfortable to use. For a moderate price, the 24-105 STM covers the full frame image circle with very good image quality.
z If you need a polarizing filter, use the Canon Circular Polarizing Filter PL-C B. z Detach the hood when adjusting the polarizing filter. Attaching a 500D Close-up Lens enables close-up photography. It provides a magnification of 0.05x to 0.39x. z Close-up Lens 250D cannot be attached because there is no size that fits the lens.
The Sigma lenses do not suffer from “creeping”, shifting of the zoom if the lens hangs vertically. Our Canon test model definitely suffered from that. Both the zoom ring and the focus ring of the Sigma 24-105 mm Art are perfect muted. The Sigma is heavier, larger and has a larger filter size than the Canon. This is the one I have on my 24-105. B+W Clear UV Haze with Multi-Resistant Coating (010M) Amazon sells it for $70. Had no problems with it. The filter will show it's flaws if light source come direct into the lens - the photo will lost contract with the filter: x_tan wrote in post #13034377. Canon mirrorless system owners have a few options when it comes to a standard zoom lens for an R series mirrorless camera. The RF 24-105mm F4 L IS USM ($1,299) is a midrange option, with a dimmer C6ILTh.
